India: Modi welcomes Abe to Gandhinagar for annual India-Japan summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe met for the 12th India-Japan Annual Summit in the western Indian city of Gandhinagar on Thursday. Two prime ministers held strategic discussions on a range of issues, agreeing to strengthen defence ties and deepen cooperation with the United States and Australia amid the increasing influence of China across Asia.
