The deal toll rose to 87 as floods hit the north-eastern Indian state of Assam on Wednesday, amid heavy monsoon rains.
Some people could be seen by the riverbanks of the Kheluapara Pt II village, sitting down on a canoe with a motorbike and their belongings, while others went afoot carrying their bags through the inundated fields.
The deluge has reportedly affected more than 2.4 million people in 24 of the 33 districts in Assam, displacing tens of thousands.
The floods come as the country is struggling to contain the coronavirus pandemic. As of Wednesday, India is the third most affected country by the coronavirus worldwide with 1,193,078 cases and 28,732 reported fatalities, as data compiled by Johns Hopkins University shows.
