The Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh geared up on Wednesday for the start of the 2019 Indian general election which begins the following day.
Election posters were seen throughout the district as officials began checking registration documents and setting up polling stations in preparation for the vote.
Over 900 million eligible voters are due to take part in the parliamentary elections... Еще, which take place across seven stages and will decide the composition of the next Indian government. The final vote-count is scheduled on May 23.
Lakshman, a student and first-time voter, spoke of his support for incumbent Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his BJP party. «He has the great vision to do everything, whatever he says,» Lakshman stated.
Modi's main challenger is expected to be opposition leader Rahul Gandhi.
