India: At least 20 killed in NTPC power plant blast

At least 20 people have been killed and nearly 100 more were injured in a boiler explosion in the state-run NTPC Ltd's Unchahar power plant in the city of Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh, India on Wednesday. The blast, resulting from a burst pipe, led to a massive blaze, causing a delay in rescue operations. Victims were rushed to two hospitals in the region, including, Lucknow hospital, but... Еще numbers of those still trapped in the building remain unknown and the death toll is expected to rise. The 1,550 MW coal-fueled plant, established in 1988, supplies electricity to Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Chandigarh, Delhi and Uttaranchal.
