Three armed militants were killed after government security forces held a search operation in a residential area of Srinagar, a city in Indian controlled Kashmir, on Saturday morning. Footage shows anti-India protests which were sparked following the operation, with demonstrators hurling stones at the police, and the police firing tear gas in return. Rajesh Yadav, Senior Officer of Indian... Еще Paramilitary Forces, stated «basically their aim is to divert the forces from the primary task of that encounter site, so we are here engaged with the stone-pelters.» Security forces reportedly received tips on the presence of militants in the area, and were fired upon once they conducted the search. Security forces retaliated and killed three militants, which prompted protests from locals. One protester is reported to have died as a result of the clashes, with local residents alleging that he was shot by security forces, and police officials claiming it was the result of a traffic accident.
