Impressive images show Bidean Nam Bian summit rescue mission

Footage from Saturday showed the rescue mission of two climbers who were stuck at around 1000 meters (3,000 ft) on the Bidean Nam Bian mountain near Glencoe. The climbers were airlifted to a helicopter after spending a night without shelter in sub-zero temperatures. They asked for help to mountain rescue services on Friday evening after reaching the summit and being concerned about potential... Еще avalanches. Some 16 Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team volunteers were unable to reach them after struggling for almost 10 hours. On Saturday at dawn, a helicopter from Inverness Coastguard finally managed to reach them and rescue them. They were taken to Belford Hospital in Fort William, but only showed signs of minor hypothermia. Mandatory Credit: Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA)
