Hungary: Far-right party stirs up tension with Roma

A Hungarian far-right party held a rally in the east-central city of Torokszentmiklos on Tuesday. Mi Hazank chose the town to illustrate the problem of what they term «gypsy crime» after a video emerged a few weeks ago purporting to fight between a Roma man and non-Roma locals. Mi Hazank, which traslates as Our Homeland Movement (OHM), was formed last year by ex-members of fellow far-right party... Еще Jobbik. Their leader, Laszlo Toroczkai, spoke to around 400 supporters in a city square, after a plan to march through the city's Rome areas was not allowed by police. Law enforcement were deployed to prevent demonstrators from clashing with nearby counter-protests by local Roma and other political groups.
