Hong Kong: Thousands flock to Che Kung Temple for fortune stick ceremony despite coronavirus outbreak

Thousands of worshippers gathered at Che Kung Miu, also called Che Kung Temple, for Lunar New Year celebrations and the traditional fortune stick drawing ceremony in Hong Kong on Sunday, despite the coronavirus outbreak and subsequent travel restrictions in mainland China. The chairman of the rural body Heung Yee Kuk, Kenneth Lau, alongside other officials attended the ceremony and drew a fortune... Еще stick which is believed to foretell the year ahead. While addressing the press, Lau reportedly called on the Hong Kong government «to listen to the people» following months of anti-government unrest, as the interpretation of the omen written on Lau's fortune stick.
