Scuffles erupted between anti-govt. protesters and police on the streets of Hong Kong on Sunday, on the ninth consecutive weekend of demonstrations which were initially a reaction to a now suspended bill which would have allowed residents to be extradited to mainland China to face trial.
At a demonstration at Belcher Bay Park during the day, demonstrators gathered where they were seen giving out... Еще information and listening to speakers. At the demonstration, Ms Kong, a psychological counsellor, said «I think they have to completely withdraw the extradition bill, this is the first point. The second one is, they have to stop persecuting all the protesters, because they are trying to use a very heavy criminal offense to try and charge them.»
Later in the evening, protesters can be seen clashing with police on the streets.
Despite the extradition bill being indefinitely suspended, the protest has now evolved into a wider anti-government movement calling for the legislation's total withdrawal and Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam's resignation.
