Hong Kong: Restaurant chain shuts after two employees infected with coronavirus

Restaurant chain Maxim's Caterers announced on Monday that two of its Hong Kong eateries, Peking Garden in MOKO Mall and the Central Alexandra House branch, will close for 14 days, as two of their staff were infected with the deadly coronavirus. Footage filmed on Tuesday at the MOKO shopping centre shows shops and restaurants closed on an almost deserted floor, with a few shoppers wearing face... Еще masks. The two employees, a waiter and a kitchen worker, were infected at a family gathering on January 26. Nine more family members were also confirmed with the virus, with one more who tested preliminary positive. The group demanded its staff at the two branches stay home for fourteen days, while it monitors their health condition. The restaurants were cleaned and disinfected on Monday night, with the company discarding all unopened or processed food.
