A large number of protesters faced off with police in Hong Kong on Friday, in front of a pier that was handed over to the People’s Liberation Army to use for military purposes from June 29 onwards.
The protesters threw paper planes to symbolise an act of invasion, and some of the demonstrators attempted to break through a fence and squared off with police.
This new episode of protests comes... Еще after peaceful events that took place earlier on the day in front of the Legislative Council, which sought to catch the attention of G20 world leaders to support their calls to strike down a controversial extradition bill which has stirred up a political crisis in the territory.
Protests continue despite Hong Kong's Chief Executive Carrie Lam’s announcement of an indefinite suspension of the extradition bill earlier in the month. Protesters are now demanding Lam's resignation.
