Hong Kong: Protesters evicted from Legislative Council as police close in
Hong Kong police forced protesters to leave the Legislative Council after hours of occupation on Monday. Footage shows demonstrators exiting the chamber. Hundreds of officers may also seen gathering outside the Legislative Council before their push to evict protesters.
Demonstrators took over the building on the... Еще anniversary of the city's handover from the UK to China.
The rally follows a recent wave of protests against amendments to the extradition law that would allow sending Hong Kong residents to the mainland China for trials.
Protesters occupying the council demanded the resignation of Chief Executive Carrie Lam and full withdrawal of the currently suspended amendments.
