Hong Kong: Police disperse protesters marking anniversary of Yuen Long metro attack

Hong Kong police dispersed anti-government protesters holding a rally at a shopping mall in the Yuen Long district on Tuesday. Demonstrators were marking the first anniversary of the Yuen Long metro attack, one of key moments of last year's anti-government protests. During the incident in 2019, a mob of suspected pro-Beijing gang members indiscriminately attacked protesters and random commuters on the platform. At the rally on Tuesday, protesters were singing «Glory to Hong Kong», an unofficial anthem of the anti-government demonstrations. Several activists were arrested as police dispersed the rally for violating coronavirus restrictions.
