A 21-year old student fell into her death from a building in Sheung Shui on Sunday, reportedly leaving a message denouncing the anti-China extradition bill.
Footage shows hundreds of mourners pay their respects to a vigil next to the building where the incident happened.
A police spokesperson was quoted saying that the student fell from a staircase from the 24th floor, and that there were 'no... Еще suspicious elements'.
Local media said that a message was found on a wall on the 24th floor, reading, «I hope to exchange my life to fulfil the wishes of 2 million… Please keep on persisting.» Moreover, the student's last Instagram post also featured an anti-China extradition bill message, reports add.
Hong Kong has been rocked by protests since the end of March. Protests continue despite Hong Kong's Chief Executive Carrie Lam announcing an indefinite suspension of the extradition bill. Protesters are now demanding Lam's resignation.
