Hong Kong: Mourners hold vigil for Coronavirus whistleblower Dr. Li Wenliang

A group of mourners gathered to hold a vigil in Hong Kong on Friday, dedicated to the recently deceased Doctor and coronavirus whistleblower, Li Wenliang, who was one of the first persons to raise the alarm of a SARS-like virus affecting people in Wuhan. Wreaths of flowers alongside written messages can also be spotted. The 34-year-old Ophthalmologist Li Wenliang was working at Wuhan Central Hospital at the time he reported patients suffering from a SARS-like virus infection, and is believed to have contracted the coronavirus whilst tending to them before dying last Thursday. The Coronavirus outbreak has been declared a global health emergency by the World Health Organization (WHO). Chinese health officials said that the death toll has reached 630, with more than 31,000 infected in China alone.
