Hong Kong: Lam warns of Chinese interference if unrest worsens

Hong Kong's Chief Executive Carrie Lam said that she didn't rule out the possibility of the Chinese government interference to restore order in Hong Kong, if the situation with protests becomes too 'bad', speaking in Hong Kong on Tuesday. Lam added though that she couldn't name the exact circumstances that could lead to such a move, stressing that Hong Kong government is focused on resolving the... Еще crisis by its own means. The protests, sparked by a since-withdrawn extradition bill which drew hundreds of thousands to take to the streets in March, have turned increasingly violent in recent weeks as protesters began destroying businesses owned by pro-Beijing residents. Demonstrators continue to hit the streets waiting for demands to be met, including amnesty for those arrested and investigating alleged police brutality, with the latest face mask ban fueling the protests even more.
