Hong Kong: Extradition bill protesters rally outside Justice Dept.

Around 200 protesters gathered outside Hong Kong’s Justice Department on Thursday to voice a series of demands after an extradition bill was suspended following mass protests. Leaders of the Demosisto party Joshua Wong and Agnes Chow joined the protesters and demanded dialogue with Cheng. «We urge Hong Kong government especially Secretary of Justice to fully withdraw the evil law, not to... Еще prosecute the activists and not to define our protest as riot. At the same time, it's a must to set up the investigation commission to investigate on police violence,» said Wong, voicing the protesters’ demands. Police had formed up to protect the building. On Thursday, a mass protest urged world leaders to act against the extradition law as they convene in Osaka for the 14th G20 Summit. Protests continue despite Hong Kong's Chief Executive Carrie Lam having announced an indefinite suspension of the extradition bill. Protesters are now demanding Lam's resignation.
