Hong Kong: Confirmed coronavirus cases hit 13 in HK — Health Dept

The total number of coronavirus infection cases confirmed in Hong Kong has risen to 13, an official from Hong Kong's Health Department said at a press conference in Hong Kong on Saturday. «As for today, there were 122 persons who need to be treated in isolation, 13 persons were diagnosed with the rash. All of there have been treated at Queen Mary Hospital, 10 of them are stable and the other... Еще three are in a very serious condition,» Hospital Authority Chief Manager Vivien Chuang said. Answering a question regarding the medical staff, Chuang confirmed that 70 health care workers have been in contact with coronavirus patients. «All of them are equipped with appropriate personal protective equipment, so they are considered as under protection [from] exposure,» she added. Chuang’s colleague from the Health Department, Chuang Shuk-kwan, said «48 Hubei residents» have been found in Hong Kong, with those who haven't passed the 14 day incubation period for the virus being placed in quarantine. The total number of cases confirmed by China stands at over 11,000, with 259 thought to have died from the disease. The new strain of coronavirus has spread from China to other countries, including the US, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Australia, Nepal, France and Germany. Cases were also reported in Taiwan, Canada, Japan, Malaysia and Vietnam.
