Hong Kong health authorities said the current number of coronavirus cases in the territory was «quite high» during a press conference on Tuesday.
«The actual number of cases is quite high. It is around 50 in the recent few days. More worrying is the proportion of unknown cases among those reported cases,» said Dr. Chuang Shuk-kwan, Head of the Communicable Branch of the Centre for Health Protection at Hong Kong's Department of Health.
«Infection control is the main concern in the hospital authority,» said Hospital Authority Chief Manager Dr. Lau Ka-hin, adding that hospital authorities reminded «our colleagues that we have to pay a vigilance to the infection control in the hospital in order to protect ourselves as well as the patients.»
Hong Kong has registered 1,570 coronavirus cases and 8 related deaths since the beginning of the pandemic, according to Johns Hopkins University.
