Scores joined a commemorative procession in the wake of the fourth anniversary of murdered indigenous activist Berta Caceres in her hometown of La Esperanza on Tuesday.
People then laid flowers, lit candles and performed prayers to mourn the late indigenous activist as they reached the cemetery.
«May our blood run to form a network and rivers of freedom, and may our lives work to protect... Еще the lives of others. May we walk on the path of justice, rebellion and dignity,» said Caceres' daughter and activist Laura Zuniga Caceres at the procession.
Berta Caceres was shot dead at her residence on March 2, 2016 while she was spearheading a campaign against the construction of a dam financed by Desarrollos Energeticos (DESA).
