Holy See: Pope Francis calls for solidarity at first public audience since March

Pope Francis called for solidarity and mutual help as he held the first in six months public audience in the Vatican City State, Wednesday, after the coronavirus restrictions for public gatherings had been eased. The Pope was seen kissing the Lebanese flag as he passed by the worshippers meeting him with cheering and applause. «After all these months we resume our encounters, face to face and not screen to screen, face to face and this is beautiful,» the Pope greeted the pilgrims, who had passed through the body temperature control and wore masks at the prayer. The Pope was seen holding the Lebanese flag, as he concluded the encounter calling for prayers for Lebanon, following deadly explosions at Beirut's port.
