Haiti: Violent erupts as army returns for first time in 22 years

Anti-government protests in Haiti's capital of Port-au-Prince turned violent on Sunday as hundreds took to the streets of to protest against the return of the country’s controversial army. Protesters threw rocks at police and barricaded roads with burning tyres in running battles with security forces. Some set fire to a truck carrying refrigerators. On Friday, Haiti’s President Jovenel Moise announced the remobilisation of army which was dissolved 22 years ago by former president Jean-Bertrand Aristide following a coup.
