Greece: Tear gas flies as Labour Law protest takes a violent turn in Athens

Scores of All-Workers Militant Front (PAME) protesters clashed with police forces in Athens on Tuesday, over a set of proposed reforms to union regulations. Protesters were stopped by police on the steps of the Labour Ministry building, before the crowd began attempting to force their way through the barricades. Later in the day, protesters were prevented marching by parked police vans, who... Еще eventually dispelled the aggressive crowds with tear gas. Hours after being considered in parliament, the proposed amendment was retracted due to protests. The change in the Labour Law would have seen the need for more than 50 percent of union members to agree in order to go on strike. PAME has called for a general strike on December 14 despite the withdrawal of the amendment. Mandatory Credit: AMNA
