Protesters burned a US flag outside the US consulate of Thessaloniki, on Tuesday, at a demonstration held in solidarity with the dozens of similar rallies held throughout the United States following the death of African-American George Floyd.
Protesters also took a knee before the consulate and raised their fists wearing black gloves, in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.
Protests and demonstrations have taken place across the world, having begun in the US in reaction to Floyd's death.
Floyd, a Houston native, died in Minneapolis earlier this week after a police officer knelt on his neck for almost nine minutes as he was recorded saying, «I can't breathe» and «Don't kill me.»
Four officers involved in the incident have since been fired. The officer who knelt on Floyd was arrested and charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter on Friday.
