Greece: Orthodox Christians brave freezing water for Epiphany

Dozens of Greek Orthodox Christians plunged into the cold water of Piraeus port near Athens on Saturday, to race after the cross in a traditional ceremony held by the Orthodox community, as part of the celebration of Epiphany. Aside from celebrating Epiphany, a holiday which marks the baptism of Jesus Christ in the Orthodox Church, participants believe that catching the religious icon of the...
