Police officers gathered outside the Moria refugee camp on the Greek island of Lesbos on Tuesday to protest against the poor living conditions at the camp. Organised by the Lesbos Police Union, the symbolic protest also condemned the detention of four officers, following the escape of two refugees from the Identity Centre of Moria. «The Lesbos police department has reached its limits, it... Еще struggles alone and many times we told our leadership the problems with face,» said the general secretary of Lesbos Police Union Apostolos Papadelis. Some 140 people are currently being detained in the Identity Centre of Moria, after either having had their asylum claims rejected or after being arrested for various offences. Two detainees managed to escape from the centre last week, while a third person was arrested and immediately returned to the camp. Investigations were carried out and four officers who were on duty at the time of the escape were detained.
