Greece: German COVID workers on 1st foreign flight to Kos island since pandemic

A flight of German tour operator TUI was the first foreign flight to land in the Greek island of Kos on Monday since the coronavirus pandemic broke out, marking the beginning of the tourist season for the Greek islands. The passengers were professionals and workers of various specialties, from medical staff to supermarket worker, flown in for a five-day free of charge stay, to thank them for contributing to the handling of the pandemic in Germany. The trip was organised in collaboration with the German tabloid newspaper BILD. According to the latest data published by Johns Hopkins University, since the beginning of the outbreak Greece has reported 3,390 coronavirus infection cases and 191 related deaths.
