Germany: WWII-era bomb discovered during Leipzig construction works

Police cordoned off an area in the north of Leipzig on Tuesday, following the discovery of what is believed to be a 250 kg (551 lbs) British aerial bomb dating back from World War II. The object was reportedly discovered during construction works on Essener Strasse. The defusion of the bomb will begin once the evacuation of the area is complete. Bus traffic was suspended in the area.
