General election candidate for Alternative fuer Deutschland (AfD), Alice Weidel, explained why she walked out of a recent TV debate airing on public broadcaster ZDF, during a campaign rally in Pforzheim on Wednesday. Weidel placed the blame on the ZDF moderator, whom she claimed had made it difficult to gain any information from her debate opponent Andreas Schauer. Weidel also complained that... Еще each time she was asked a question, her answer was cut short. She had walked off after her opponent said the AfD was a «radical right-wing party» during a heated debate on immigration. Also during the campaign rally, leading AfD politician Alexander Gauland spoke of resolving differences between Russia and Ukraine. Gauland described how he had recently told the Ukrainian ambassador to Germany that the country's disputes with Russia could only be solved directly through contact with Russia and without the involvement of other countries. Gauland criticised the sanctions that have been placed on Russia, saying that they were damaging not only for the Russian economy but also for the German economy. The German general elections are set to take place on September 24.
