Germany: Thousands form ’band of solidarity’ human chain against racism through Berlin

Thousands deployed a band to form a nine-kilometre-long human chain through Berlin’s city centre, on Sunday afternoon, to stand in solidarity against racism. The demonstration was organised by the 'Indivisible' alliance, under the motto «so goes solidarity,» with dozens of activist groups, such as Amnesty International or Grandmas against the right ('Omas gegen rechts'), that participated by holding colourful laces bonding them across the city. Signs reading «Racism kills,» «Climate justice now» and «Refugees welcome» could be seen at the demo. Due to the coronavirus measures, all participants were required to wear a face mask and stand at a prudent distance from each other.
