Germany: Thousands confront anti-Merkel rally in Hamburg

Around 2,000 left-wing demonstrators took to the streets of Hamburg on Wednesday, to oppose the «Merkel must go» rally organised by far-right groups. Anti-Merkel demonstrators held signs denouncing the German Chancellor's multiculturalism policy and called for the end of what they described as «Merkel's dictatorship». On their end, left-wing demonstrators chanted anti-racism slogans and held... Еще banners condemning the far-right-led anti-immigration campaign. Riot police confronted antifa activists at the Dammtor train station, as the demonstrators tried to block the station in order to prevent the far-right activists' arrival. Apart from the stand-off inside the station, no serious clashes occurred, according to police.
