Germany's Christian Social Union (CSU) leader Horst Seehofer held his last press conference as Bavarian Minister-President on Tuesday in Munich, following his resignation from his post last week. Seehofer said goodbye to CSU party members and congratulated them for the work done in the past years. «After having conducted many cabinets and listening to many, may I allow myself the verdict... Еще that the Bavarian State Government was good, in its entirety,» he said. «Party politics was the greatest achievement, the acquisition of the absolute majority, in the field of property policy, foreign policy with reconciliation with the Czech Republic, which many take for granted, but which are existential for our good-neighbourly relations and domestic issues with which we have dealt today», said Seehofer. Seehofer announced his resignation one day after the Social Democratic Party (SPD) voted to approve the 'Grand Coalition' government with Angela Merkel's Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and the CSU earlier this month.
