Germany: «Start talking about people, not territories» Russia's Kosachev advises Kiev

Chairman of the Russian Federation Council's Foreign Affairs Committee Konstantin Kosachev said the Ukrainian conflict will be solved when authorities in Kiev «start talking about people, not territories.» The statement was made during the Berlin Foreign Policy Forum held at the Humboldt Carre in Berlin, Tuesday. «My expectation of the Ukrainian authorities — as soon as they will stop talking... Еще about territories and start talking about people [...] as soon as they will start treating these people as their own citizens, not separatists, not terrorists, the conflict will be solved,» said Kosachev The Russian official then said any final resolution to the conflict lies with Kiev and not Moscow. «Russia is being sanctioned for not implementing the Minsk Agreement, though the Minsk Agreement is not implemented as for now by the Ukrainian side,» said Kosachev. Also at the panel discussion «Line(s) of Defence — Securing Europe and its neighbourhood» were former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Macedonian Minister of Defence Radmila Sekerinska and German Member of Parliament Michael Georg Link.
