Refugees from Sierra Leone protested against deportations from Germany to Italy, marching through the centre of Munich, Saturday. They decried the European Union's Dublin III Regulation that requires asylum seekers to make their application for asylum in the EU member state to which they first enter.
Many of the protesters wore straw skirts and held banners reading «deportation is the last ring... Еще of the slavery chain» and «freedom of movement for everyone,» amongst others.
One asylum seeker from Sierra Leone explained why he did not want to be deported to Italy: «when we are in Italy most of us sleep in the train station and no accommodation, no food, no nothing. We are really suffering from the cold.»
