Germany: Seehofer says migration deal reached with Italy

German Minister for the Interior Horst Seehofer said that a refugee deal has been reached with Italy and just needs to be signed, in the Bundestag in Berlin on Thursday. The deal reportedly commits Italy to taking back any refugees who have already submitted an asylum application in Italy, who try to enter Germany through Austria. In exchange Germany will agree to take in refugees from rescue... Еще ships who have been refused access to Italy. Seehofer also denounced right wing extremism in Germany, in light of recent violent events in Chemnitz and Kothen, saying: «with us there is no tolerance for right wing extremism, no tolerance for anti-semitism, no tolerance for inciting hatred against or hating foreigners, and wherever we do encounter these things we will prosecute them without compromise.» He also took the opportunity to state that the overall crime rate in Germany continues to fall, remarking that «the crime statistics for 2017 demonstrate both the lowest crime rate and the highest crime clearance rate in the last 30 years in the Republic of Germany.»
