German Interior Minister Horst Seehofer and Bavarian Minister-President visited the German-Austrian border crossing in Freilassing on Monday, as coronavirus based border controls continue to be relaxed.
«If the infection occurrence remains stable and sustainable, and if we even perhaps see further improvements in the occurrence of infection, then we aim to achieve the goal of completely... Еще abolishing the corona contingent border controls on June 15, or more precisely after June 15,» said Seehofer.
Soeder warned however that if cases were to rise again that Germany and other countries may need to apply emergency border controls again.
«If the figures in France or in other countries were to rise sharply again, then we must also be able to react again,» he said.
Seehofer also spoke with some locals near the border who seemed to be complaining about the controls.
