Leader of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Martin Schulz announced a “reconfiguration” of his party at a press conference in Berlin on Monday, after the party failed to gain more votes than its Christian Democratic Union (CDU) rival in September's election. «Now begins a reconfiguration of the party. This work will not be done quickly, we will take our time. And the work will not be without... Еще conflict,» said Schulz. The party was however successful in Sunday’s regional elections in Lower Saxony. SDP regional leader Stephan Weil triumphed, winning 36.9 percent of the vote.
