More than a thousand demonstrators hit the streets of Berlin on Saturday to mark Quds Day and express their solidarity with Palestine, with a rival demonstration of counter-protesters also held to support of Israel.
The pro-Palestinian march kicked off in Adenauerplatz. Demonstrators were carrying Palestinian flags and chanting 'Freedom for Palestine'.

Police forces were deployed at the protests. No incident was reported.
Known as Quds Day, which in Arabic means the Day of Jerusalem, the march takes place each year towards the end of the holy month of Ramadan and has drawn participation from around the world since it was introduced in 1979 by the late Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Khomeini.
