Germany: Pro-Kurdish activists hold rally on 'Rojava revolution' anniv. in Berlin

A group of pro-Kurdish activists gathered at Berlin's Hermanstrasse metro station before marching through the city on Sunday, commemorating the anniversary of the so-called 'Rojava revolution.' During the rally, activists held signs calling for justice for Kurdish communities and waved flags of various Kurdish groups, including the People's Protection Units (YPG) and the Kurdistan Communities of Women (KJK). 'Rojava revolution' is marked on July 19, the date when People's Protection Units (known by their Kurdish acronym YPG) members took control of the Syrian city of Kobani in 2012. Germany has the largest Kurdish population in Europe, with an estimated one million Kurds living in the country.
