Hundreds of people took to the streets of Berlin on Saturday to protest against the Turkish 'Olive Branch' operation in Syria’s Afrin district. The procession saw demonstrators being pushed by police and scuffles breaking out between the two sides. Marchers walked through central Berlin waving Rojava and YPG flags, and carrying banners demonstrating solidarity with the embattled Afrin... Еще district. Demonstrators arrived at Brandengurg Gate, where a rally took place. In January, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the beginning of operation 'Olive Branch' against the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG). Turkey views the YPG, which is active in northern Syria, as an extension of the banned Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) group.
