Germany: Preliminary coalition talks 'very focused and target orientated' — Schulz

Leader of the German Social Democratic Party (SPD) Martin Schulz spoke to the press, outside the Bavarian Representation in Berlin, on Wednesday, following discussions with the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and Christian Social Union (CSU) about entering into a coalition agreement. The SPD politician sounded positive about the meeting, claiming it to have been «a very focused and target... Еще orientated consultation.» In the coming days, the SPD will continue to negotiate with the CDU and CSU, in an effort to build a Grand Coalition between Germany's biggest parties. Following the 2017 national elections, the SPD announced their intention to go into opposition; however, after attempts to build a so-called «Jamaica coalition» — between the CDU, CSU, Greens and the FDP — fell through, negotiations began between the SPD and Merkel's CDU.
