Germany: Police displays recovered John Lennon belongings in Berlin

Berlin police presented personal items belonging to former Beatles musician John Lennon that were recovered in the German capital after haveing been stolen in New York in 2006, Tuesday. Among the retrieved items are three diaries, postcards, letters, a cigarette box, Lennon's signature glasses, as well as original recordings of a Beatles concert. Еще State Office for Criminal Investigation Carsten Pfohl said that the lawyer of Lennon's widow Yoko Ono viewed pictures of the belongings and «assumed it was original material.» Deputy Head of the Berlin Public Prosecutor's Office Michael von Hagen told reporters that in September 2017, Berlin police was informed by the Office for Criminal Investigations number 44 that an insolvent auction house had access to some of Lennon's belongings and «that those were not to be sold in the free market.» Other items were found in the car of a man that has been arrested by authorities on Monday. That another suspect involved in the case is believed to be living in Turkey. The recovered belongings were allegedly stolen in New York by a man who worked as the chauffeur of Yoko Ono between 1995 and 2006.
