Co-Chair of the far-right Alternative fuer Deutschland (AfD) party Frauke Petry announced her decision not to become a Bundestag member, on Monday. She was speaking at a press conference the morning after the federal elections, in Berlin. Petry said her task was to make the AfD a party «fit for government» but that she, «after long consideration», would not be a member of the AfD's Bundestag... Еще faction. Sunday’s results made the AfD Germany’s third largest party, gaining 12.6% of the vote. Having surpassed the mandatory five percent threshold, the AfD will now enter the Bundestag for the first time.
