Speaking at a regular... Еще government press conference in Berlin, Bjoern Gruenewalder, the German Interior Ministry spokesperson, added that they have no information either on whether the Jordanian princess requested asylum in Germany.
Various unconfirmed reports are circulating that Princess Haya bint Hussein, who is the daughter of King Hussein of Jordan, fled the UAE with her two children, Zayed and Jalil, with the assistance of a German diplomat.
Adebahr also touched on the death of a Venezuelan naval officer, Captain Rafael Acosta Arevalo, who reportedly died on Saturday, while being held in custody by the Venezuelan authorities.
While the Foreign Ministry spokesperson condemned his death, she urged to «avoid any escalation in this tense situation.» Adebahr also called for an «independent investigation» on the circumstances surrounding Arevalo's death.
She further added that it is understandable that the scheduled talks between the conflicting parties in Venezuela have been cancelled amid the incident.
