The far-right group «Der Dritte Weg» held a torch-lit vigil in Wunsiedel, Saturday, to commemorate Hitler's deputy Rudolf Hess and German soldiers who lost their lives in World War II.
Around 200 people participated in the march, carrying flags and torches. Several hundred police officers were deployed.
Around 300 counter-protesters reportedly gathered on market square, celebrating a 'Day of... Еще Humanity' to oppose the far-right.
The vigil is celebrated every year under the slogan «Dead are only those who are forgotten!»
The march took place in the Bavarian city of Wunsiedel, where prominent Nazi Rudolf Hess was buried. The remains of Hess were interred in Wunsiedel before being unearthed from a grave, since the site had allegedly become a place of pilgrimage for the far-right.
