Germany: Merkel should be taken «to court» — AfD frontrunner attacks German Chancellor

The Alternative for Germany (AfD) general election candidate Alice Weidel attacked German Chancellor Angela Merkel in a press conference in the Federal Press Conference building in Berlin on Monday. Weidel took questions from foreign correspondents during the conference. Weidel said that if they were successful in the upcoming elections, the AfD would take Merkel to court over her 'open door... Еще' refugee policy and migrant rescue operations which Weidel described as «violating European treaties». The AfD candidate went on to criticise what she described as high security measures at AfD rallies due to the strong counter protests at each event. She described this as a clear violation of «the constitutional rights which clearly say that we have free speech and freedom of assembly». The AfD is hoping to enter parliament in the federal elections on September 24.
