Chancellor Angela Merkel welcomed Argentinian President Alberto Fernandez to Berlin on Monday as the two leaders discussed Germany's investment and Argentina's complex negotiations on its foreign debt with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
«We know that Argentina is not in a very simple economic situation. That's why it is even more important that we can talk tonight about our economic... Еще relations and also that we can reflect how we, from the German side or even from the European side, can be supportive and helpful. We welcome the talks with the IMF (International Monetary Funds) and we will go further in this issue,» said Merkel.
Argentina is currently attempting to renegotiate around €90 billion ($100 billion) in debt with the IMF.
