German Chancellor Angela Merkel greeted a group of female students at the Chancellery in Berlin on Wednesday, to mark 'Girls' Day', an event intended to encourage high school girls to pursue STEM subjects. Merkel spoke to the girls, expressing her hope that the different industries they saw on the day may help them make a decision on their chosen career. «It's not always so easy to work out what... Еще one really would like to do, and therefore we place exciting activities at the centre point of todays proceedings in the hope that your view of these things will be broadened,» she said. As the chancellor was shown around the different exhibits on display, she got to grips with several of the technologies. Some of the students showed her VR glasses, while a small, anthropomorphous robot shook her hand and greeted her.
