Germany: Locals express their views on refugee shelter in Bamberg

Locals of the Bavarian town of Bamberg shared their views on Friday on the refugee housing complex located in the eastern part of the city. A reporter asked the citizens of Bamberg what they thought of the idea that the migrant reception centres were made to ease tensions between locals and migrants. One answered that he thought it “makes no sense at all, because that makes something like a... Еще ghetto. Ghettoisation was never good in history.” Another resident, expressed her fears that “if there would be more, then the burden would be too large and would be a danger to social peace.» The Bamberg reception centre is reportedly one of seven such facilities opened across Bavaria, and was designed to house up to 3,400 migrants who entered Germany through Austria.
