Germany: Local lockdown reinstated in Guetersloh following coronavirus outbreak at abattoir

A local lockdown has been announced in the district of Guetersloh on Tuesday, the first since easing of restrictions and major openings announced. The announcement was made by North Rhine-Westphalia Minister President Armin Laschet in a bid to fight the spread of coronavirus in the area. The new measures come after over 1,500 people tested positive for COVID-19 in a major coronavirus outbreak at the Toennies slaughterhouse in Rheda-Wiedenbrueck, Guetersloh.
